Kiyomi Okubo was a student of the Tokyo University of Art and Music. She graduated with a scholarship to go to Juilliard School in the US to study further. After graduating from there, she entered the Vienna Master class in Austria.
Kiyomi has an extensive career encompassing numerous tours of Europe
where she has played in many major establishments.
Kiyomi is both a pianist and a composer. She has composed music for TV programs as well as TV commercials. She is also known as a singer songwriter and has released two of her own CDs with her own compositions.
Over the last two years she has been working on arranging authentic
Japanese songs for piano solos and chamber music. These songs will be released on CD within one year.
Kiyomi is an acclaimed and accomplished musician, pianist and composer
whose music is profoundly individual.
Furthermore, she is an organizer of an International Music Competition
in Japan of which the winner may enter the master class at the Kuhmo
Chamber Music festival in Finland each year. She really loves Finland!
